For precise measurements the very thick sheet of plastic must be cut with a circular, band, or router saw. Otherwise, can be bent, break formed, or cut with a laser. A personal touch can be added to the custom Kydex Holster with a hot stamp or perforation punch. Adhesives and solvents are not used to bond the product to itself. Instead, small pieces and molds are put together with an ultrasonic spot weld or a mechanical fastener.

A Protective Holster is for concealing a lethal weapon. This protective armor casing is specifically made for a gun, a single or double magazine holder. The thick material can also be made into a knife sheath. The thick plastic protects the piece as well as the individual from wear and tear.

Optional holsters are also made for non-protective items such as cell phones and dip cans. This option allows a person to conceal a habit or expensive technology. The holster will protect expensive personal products from bumps, drops, and moisture.

A custom-made holsters come in a very snug fit. Cradling the product in such a tight fit eliminates the gap the gives wiggle room. Without wiggle room the item can not easily become free of the holster or sleeve. A consumer can mail the product in so the exact measurements are easier to produce.

Many colors and designs of choice are available. One should consider the outside color is visible to others and the inside is only visible to the owner. Depending on the purchaser the the colors can be the same or different. Each person has this option when creating the case of his or her liking. Some colors to choose from are solid while other colors are camouflage. Different colors are usually chosen for different personalities while others prefer to chose a simple color for inside and out. The color of the trim is also a decision the creator makes.

The custom-made holster is also made for any given location. Locations can either be on the belt, chest, or pant leg. In addition, some have preference of carrying inside or outside of the pant. In some instances the purchaser does not wear belts so other locations are taken into considerations. When choosing an alternative location the holster should not be too bulky if the goal is to conceal.

Some added accessories change the look while others completely change the design. When making an order be sure to consider equipment enhancers and whether or not the design is going to change. The change in colors will not make a difference, however; adding eyelets and fasteners will make a difference. The addition of a thumb break, sweat guard and lights to a gun will completely alter the design.

The most important decision to makes is if the directional use of the item matters. When the item is a cell phone or a dip can, directional use will not matter. If the item is a gun, one must take into consideration if the owner is left or right handed. The best option to choose is an ambidextrous custom kydex holster.
