Remember most interviewers will have made their minds up in the first 2 minutes. You have to arrive on time and you must look presentable and smart.

Take your appearance into consideration and the job you are applying for. It is your opportunity to impress not shock. Wear attire that would fit the job. Nails, hair should be clean and well-presented, your shoes shiny, the interviewers should notice you rather than your jewelry or perfume/aftershave.

Smile, you need to show that you are enthusiastic.

Consider the way you sit while being interviewed, you can sit back but don't be too relaxed. Hand gestures will also be noticed.

Look directly at the eyes of the interviewer to make them feel that you are attentive. Remember to scan the panel so everyone feels included. Looking at your hands, the floor or out of the window is a real turn off when you interview someone.

An interview question normally starts by telling something about yourself. You should rehearse at home so that you can answer smoothly. Take account of essential information about you instead of senseless talk.

Watch the interviewer's body language. If they are falling asleep it is a bad sign. Ask them if they want additional details about you.

Browse the internet to gain knowledge about the job. Try to equate the skills and proficiency requirement and make a self assessment if you can really do the job. Lack of interest can often be overshadowed by your willingness and exuberance especially if you show that you can deliver.

Most interviews are lost because the candidate doesn't actually listen to the question. Listen carefully; if you don't understand what they want ask them to repeat the question.

Keep a keen ear - don't focus on the words but what the interviewer is really asking. Is the query pertaining to your accomplishments, beliefs, religion, or anything specific?

Marketing yourself by means of using the questions as your tool is acceptable, but be truthful. Seemingly, you can relate the query to give good examples of your successes and aims in life. Keep your answers straight in relation to the question and avoid talking about non-related topics.

If you don't know something it isn't the end of the world. Honesty is a great factor in an interview so it's good to say the truth rather than finding out later that your answer was so totally off-target.

An interviewer is also nervous on hiring a new candidate because they need to be sure that they have hired the right person for the job. Be diligent, feel relaxed and if by chance you did not succeed, kindly ask for a reaction on your interview. By doing this, every interview that you have will become a learning process and a tool for triumph. Good Luck!
