For most people, running an event can be a big achievement and an intimate feeling if the family is close to you. However, what do you do when the big day arrives and you missed a few important items? Or perhaps you ordered the wrong cake so the anxiety begins. What if a supplier gets sick at the last minute and you need someone else to do it? Event planner or couples conflict solution manager have numbers of multiple suppliers in their back pockets.

Providers of wedding and function items are not hard to find. However, the difference is that they are quick to charge you an arm and a leg because they simply do not know you. In this case, you will be charged full price. If you are a coordinator, it is likely you will either be charges discounted or cost prices because you are known to the industry.

When you use a coordinator, they are good at filling in the blanks for you when you are stumped at an idea. They also save you a lot of time. If you had to run an event, you will come across speed bumps along the way. This may entail small issues or even bigger issues where at the last minute you are running about looking for solutions. Coordinators are good at planning your function in good time and are able to foresee a problem and fix it well before the date of the function.

What most people need in a time of worry is a helping hand. This is the role that coordinators play. Because they have been by your side through the ups and downs and the many disagreements, they understand where you are coming from. They are also prepared for the late-night calls.

Speak to the planner and see what type of person they are. If they are quite open with their thoughts, this will help you a great deal when you come clean that you actually want to take over some of the tasks. If this is the plan, ensure that you choose the right partner from the start so that you are able to brainstorm with them and make decisions together, without either of you stepping on each other's toes.

If you are working with a venue that provides all of their own suppliers, it is likely you will not need a coordinator. However, speak to them and see how you can get one involved if you really feel you need someone on your side also making decisions so that an outside party is not choosing their own decor over what you had in mind.

Finances play a big role and if you are looking for the best, you need to have the money to do it. If you are trying to cut cost, you may want to consider using the coordinator for only certain matters. You can deal with the rest with the help of family and friends. Even better if you assign one person to run with the leftover matters.

Time and patience is key. But for many people, this trait does not come easy which is why you leave your function in the hands of trustworthy people. Take this as an opportunity to let loose and relax.
