Several people are having mental conditions. They want to be getting rid of these disorders so they are seeking the service of medical professionals. These practitioners could be helping them with these situations.

However, at times, the professionals could be inflicting harm on them. In this case, a patient should be reporting immediately an unethical treatment by psyhotherapist. She should be considering several factors when doing such.

There are certain warning signs that the individuals may notice when they experience harassments. The practitioners may tell sexual jokes or stories to their patients. They may also give seductive looks to their clients. They may also discuss the sex lives of their patients excessively. They may also intimately touch their body parts. They may even hug, touch, sit close to, or lie next to their clienteles.

Special treatments might also be experienced by the individuals from these practitioners. Dates or social activities might be asked for by the professionals. Expensive gifts or bouquets of flowers might also be received from them. Sweet words might also be heard from the therapists. There are also cases where the personal secrets of the therapists will be confided with them. Their business policies might even be changed just so their clients can be accommodated.

The individual could be doing several methods in reporting the incident. First, he could be going with an administrative action. A practitioner typically receives his license from a licensing board. This license allows him of practicing his profession and rendering his service legally. If the patient will be filling a complaint and submitting it to the board, the authorities could be suspending or even revoking the license of the therapist.

They can also go with professional association actions. Most professionals have memberships with certain associations. These associations typically establish codes of ethics that all of the members should follow. After they file their complaints with these associations, certain officers will conduct investigations. Once they prove that the therapists are guilty, they will remove them from their associations. However, the accused will still be able to render their services although they now possess bad reputations.

The individual could also be going with a civil action. With this option, she could be filing a civil charge with a court and seeking money for damages. Prior to doing so, she needs to be looking for a good lawyer in representing his case to a court. The lawyer could be suggesting the best option for this endeavor. The client could be engaging in a media circus especially if this therapist is well known.

She could also be going with a criminal action. This action is appropriate for one who had a sexual contact with her practitioner. She could be contacting a law enforcement agency and officers will be investigating her case. After finding enough proof, they could be charging a criminal case against the practitioner and serving him with a penalty like fine or a prison time.

Whatever actions the patients will go with, they have to take note of the durations that they can file complaints, namely the statute of limitations. Usually, these statutes will only last for six months from the dates that the professionals did the acts. They should not endure these relationships for long periods of time.
