Funding a music record, video, or a project may be financially distressing for a starting musician. Needless to say, it is even more distressing and quite frustrating to get a record deal. As a musician, whatever genre you are into, you will need a fanbase in order to get yourself into the spotlight. Concerts, even mini and low cost ones are still very difficult to manage.

Creating the music is all fun and very interesting but it is not all that. Musicians often have really marketable outputs but they do not know exactly where to get funds to get them going. There are very gifted ones who remain underground and independent. At the same time, unknown and unheard. That is why most of the desperate oned resort to crowdfunding for musicians.

However, crowdfunding can be really difficult as well because there is no guarantee that there will be enough fanbase that will help in funding your project. If you are able to gather enough crowd, they will be there to support you all the way. They will come rallying down for you just to help you complete your project.

Some of the most effective ways to do this is through the internet. Musicians promote their piece in crowdfunding sites. These are established by fellow musicians and others are affiliated with record labels. The only thing you need to do is make more music, upload them to the site, generate comments, and wait for people to contact you and pledge their support.

Others need not to ask from other people or go to these sites in order to get the needed funding. Some of them simply post their videos on Facebook or YouTube just for fun. Some of them did not even expect they would get thousands or even millions of views. If you can get this much views, you have the chance to grab the attention of huge record labels and earn a deal for yourself.

There had been a lot of artists who had been YouTube sensations that have taken the concert stage already. They received recognition and funding straight from record labels that have also viewed their videos. Some of the videos are not of the best quality but because of the raw talent they have showcased, they made it big in the industry.

Some examples of these artists are Walk Off the Earth, Christina Grimmie, and many others. Grimmie even made her videos a platform in joining The Voice USA and made it to the finals. Although she did not win, she still was able to gather a lot of fans trailing behind her and supporting her next projects.

Pleasing people is something that you must not focus as a star because you will never get to please everybody. There will always be people who will hate your every song and every appearance that you will make in the lime light. So focus on the fans instead.

Garnering support from thousands or millions of fans and grabbing a record deal are ultimately not enough. There is a struggle of maintaining your status. There will always be better new ones that they can compare to you. So the challenge gets even tougher ones you are already in the industry.
