Web developers have to integrate the right SEO elements in designing websites, especially if ranking high on search engines is the major objective of their clients. There may be other highly developed strategies for designing websites, but search engines, especially the organic ones, have a distinct set of programs in ranking websites.

But before we delve on what the elements of Search Engine Optimization are, it is important to provide a brief background on what an organic search engine is and how it is different from the paid ones. These two types of search engines can be identified by looking at the search engine result pages (SERPs).

Those webpages that are tagged with "Sponsored Link" are submitted to a paid search engine. In contrast, the results with unpaid listings are obviously generated from organic search engines. Online businesses choose the organic search engines because they want to avoid issues pertaining to hard selling.

Now we proceed to the chief subject matter, which is about the SEO elements. First off, SEO is divided into two main headings: on-page and off page optimization.

On-page optimization (meta tags, website URL, internal linking) refers to web content optimization. Once web developers are done with optimization of web content, web developers pay attention to backlinks or the authoritative links that help in bringing volumes of traffic to your website.

Domain names are also included in the elements of Search Engine Optimization. In naming a domain, online businesses have to pick a word or phrase that functions like a brand name. This way, Internet users can easily distinguish them from their competitors.

Then, never underestimate the power of keywords. Search engines employ unique software called spider that "crawl" from one webpage to another. It collects key phrases that hold significant meanings to every website. The gathered keywords are then placed on search engine's listing of directories.

Lastly, never underestimate the power of web content. Unique, compelling and relevant content helps in increasing the traffic to your website. This therefore serves as a reminder to web developers that content should not be created solely for Search Engine Optimization, but partly for Internet users' satisfaction too.
